The one thing I can say about cruising is that you will never go hungry. On one hand you pay for each meal with the money that the vacation cost. On the other hand, the excess of food is rather nauseating. You could ask was I seasick and the answer was that I never felt queasy because of the rocking of the boat.
There are three different ways to eat breakfast and dinner on the ship, the sit-down restaurant Imagination, by an ample buffet or room service. Lunch can be attained by buffet and room service. The menu for the Imagination restaurant changes slightly from day to day. You can also have an eventful dinner at the captain’s table for $75.00 per person, extra. I cannot talk on that subject because my husband and I did not avail ourselves to that treat.
During the day they had scheduled fun activities to do at sea like trivia contests, shopping, eating and drinking. It was a small ship and a few of the things to do were near the casino and just smelled bad. I though Bingo would be fun but the bingo cards cost money. The art gallery was expensive but pretty. They had only one pool and it was crowded and loud. We went on deck and got some sun in an area that was opposite from the waterslide.
The dinner for the second day was an “elegant night”. This was not a mandatory occasion but it was amusing to see people in their finest clothes. We were asked to dress up for dinner and a toast with the captain of the ship. The restaurant did impose an upscale dress code for the night. Many areas had photographers to take pictures of the events. You could purchase the pictures and take them home as souvenirs.
After dinner, many opportunities presented themselves. You could go to a nightclub or a comedy show, or watch karaoke. Each show had a PG and a late-night version. We opted for walking the ship and a nice glass of wine and then sleep. Sleep was the only thing on our minds.
