The thought of a house on the lake started in my husband’s childhood memory. He grew up with only the “rich” families living on the lake. It was something that stayed with him throughout his life. His father was a professor at a small college and his mother a nurse. They were not poor by any stretch of the imagination but did not seem to worry about living beyond what they needed or wanted.
Both my husband and I have a love of travel. We have ventured to St. Thomas, Jamaica, Paris, England, Montreal and enjoyed finding new adventures in every place we go. The first year we were married we decided to move to Florida after twelve inches of snow fell where we lived.
From Orlando, Florida we moved to Huntersville, North Carolina. Nine years and the children graduating high school and on to college, we downsized to a house in Awendaw, South Carolina. It was close to a beach and Charleston. One year after that we moved to Tampa, Florida. Two years after that we moved back to the Charlotte Area and settled in Lake Wylie but our physical address is Clover. To get where we are right now, we have physically moved 5 times. I do know how to pack and move and hate it. You could call us wanderers.
Our house right now is close to the lake. It is commonly called a lake view. Close but no cigar. We start our next chapter looking for a house or land to make my husbands dream come true.
