Carnival Cruise Day 6 – Disembarking the ship

Posted on November 11, 2019

After packing our bags and stuffing our souvenirs in our carry-ons, we had our last meal at the cafeteria. That morning did not seem too early though it was around 6AM. Going home to 50-degree weather did not seem bad, though I really like warm weather.

We were told to go to one of the large auditorium rooms to wait for our time to leave the ship. A staff member was very organized and sat us in seats where we would be feathered off into the hall and down the steps to the gangplank and off the boat. We left this room row after row prepared and happy. After we disembarked the ship we were taken to customs. We showed our passport to the customs agent and let out of the processing terminal. This was the fastest we have ever left an area. It was so fast that our ride back to the airport would not be there for 2 hours. We opted to take the transport bus to Orlando International Airport.

Our flight to Atlanta was on time and not crowded. It was an hour to Atlanta followed by another 45-minute flight to Charlotte. I was very happy to be home and recharged to start our lives again. Ed conversely had 2 days at home and another flight for a week-long conference in… wait for it, … Orlando, Florida.
